Task 3 Done
Task 3: Fun with Squares

A little fun fact I'd like to share is that I am applying to be a President's Host Tour Guide. Why? Well one of the things prospective students do when they come to visit Ithaca College for the first time is to take a tour of the campus. This allows both students and parents to hear everything there is to know about the college. They get to learn about the history, buildings, programs, and much more. The tour guide is generally one of the first people students and families get to hear from. It would be nice if I were to be that person who they get to hear from. When I was looking at colleges (and that is a lot) I always found the campus tours to be very informative and they helped me decide which schools I would consider and which ones I wouldn't. I want to be able to teach them about the college, and help them make decisions just as tour guides have done for me. Tour guides are a key source of information to prospective students and I would like to be able to provide them with the information they need to know.

If I had to sum myself up in two words it would be these: Community Service
In high school I performed various acts of community service. I was the president of my school's Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). But even before that I have always been involved with the club. For four years, I participated in organizing the annual senior citizens thanksgiving dinner. Here members of both FBLA and Key Club would serve an entire gym full of senior citizens a full thanksgiving meal. But not only that we also conducted canned food drives and turkey drives. We also decorated an entire gym with a different theme each year.
In addition to the Thanksgiving Dinner, FBLA also conducted a school blood drive. This event happened 2 weeks after the Dinner. There is a lot of organizing and planning that goes into the blood drive especially with registration. It takes a hard worker to find a time spot for over 200 students, faculty, and staff.
I also went down to the elementary school twice a week to do student tutoring. Here I would help 4th and 5th graders with their homework and other activities they may have.

I enjoy helping others with problems or concerns they may have. It makes me feel good about myself knowing that I helped and even cheered up others who may be feeling blue or in need of assistance.

As a President's Host Tour Guide, I will make sure that every prospective student and family member will have the information they need to know about Ithaca College. I will be able to help students make decisions about their college search, which is a very difficult task.
